Tiny Garden Hideaways
A New Paper craft Workshop
A Special Summer Workshop
Begins this week!
There is something VERY magical about opening a tiny paper door and discovering a whole little world hidden behind it. It’s enchanting when you’re a child and, as I’ve found out, when you are an adult too!
Tucked away in my own little garden studio, I’ve been happily sketching, painting and building miniature sheds, summerhouses and garden hideaways, complete with opening doors and windows that reveal tiny details inside. They’re a lovely combo of illustration and paper craft, and totally absorbing to make. I’ve been filming my progress and created a new paper craft course.
I’m delighted to say that my new workshop, Lift-the-Flap Garden Buildings, launches on 27th June at 9am BST
This is a pre-recorded workshop that you can work through in your own time, whether that’s over a quiet weekend, a few evenings after work, or, like me, tucked away in the garden with a cup of tea.
We’ll start with simple shapes and ideas, then gradually build our little paper buildings layer by layer. I’ll show you how I sketch, paint and assemble the pieces, sharing plenty of tips along the way to making the process enjoyable, approachable and really adaptable!

You don’t need lots of specialist supplies. Watercolours and coloured pencils are perfect, but the techniques are flexible enough to adapt to whatever materials you enjoy using.
There are tracing sheets and reference materials included too, so you can focus on the fun of making rather than worrying about getting everything perfect.
These tiny buildings work beautifully in sketchbooks and journals, but they’re equally lovely as handmade cards or standalone paper projects. Once you’ve learned the basic techniques, you’ll find yourself imagining all sorts of variations and little worlds to create.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is seeing how differently everyone interprets the same idea. Some people follow along closely, others head off on creative tangents, and both approaches are absolutely encouraged.
Look at this workshop as the basic recipe, for you to add to and adapt in anyway you enjoy.
Whether you’re completely new to drawing and paper craft or you’ve been making art for years, I hope this workshop offers a gentle creative escape and a chance to make something playful with your hands.

As always, the workshop is broken down into manageable sections that you can revisit whenever you like, and I’ve included lots of examples and variations to spark ideas of your own.
If you’d like to spend some time creating tiny sheds, secret garden rooms and miniature paper worlds, I’d love for you to join me.

Hi! I would love to have this workshop. I thought I purchased this morning but there was a charge and then a credit to my bank account. Should I sign up again?
It's magical! Can't wait to make my own tiny garden 💚
